Good Energies EVS

What is EVS?

The European Voluntary Service (EVS) provides young Europeans with the unique chance to show their personal commitment through unpaid and full-time voluntary activities in a foreign country.  For more information, click HERE

GEAI is  accredited by the EU Erasmus+ programme to host EVS volunteers from abroad and to send Irish volunteers to other countries to volunteer.

The Good Energies EVS project describes the work carried out by our volunteers during their stay in Ireland. The project includes support for the campaign against fracking, support for renewable energies and raising awareness of climate change locally and nationally. The work mainly takes place in Ballinaglera Community Hall.

  • Our purpose is to raise awareness of and encourage communities and young people to be active in the fight against climate change. We promote sustainable energy sources and uses.
  • We run environmental campaigns based on social media, political advocacy,  community awareness and capacity-raising.
  • Tasks include helping with social media, event management, campaigns, website management, report writing, presentations, press releases, etc.
  • We focus on improving the capacity of our young people, personally and professionally.
  • We encourage volunteers to carry out projects of their own choice.
