Fracking Free Ireland

Fracking Free Ireland provides information on local, national and international hydraulic fracturing related issues ranging from political issues, academic reports and research, media and press articles to local news and newsletters. The newsletters provide an extensive round-up of the latest news.  They also provide a service for those who are opposed to hydraulic fracturing by supplying downloadable posters, flyers and presentations, sample letters and links to petitions for signing.

Fracking Free Clare

“Clare Fracking Concerned was set up in late 2011 by concerned residents on foot of news that Enegi Oil had secured a licensing option to explore exploiting the Clare Shales for Natural Gas using hydraulic fracturing. We have been raising awareness within the potentially affected communities of the immaturity of the fracking technology and have succeeded in gaining great grassroots support for our campaign.

Fermanagh Fracking Awareness Network

The Fermanagh Fracking Awareness Network welcomes all – farmers, fishermen, business people, homemakers, doctors, teachers, students and many more – to share ideas, experiences and visions for a clean, healthy, just and prosperous future across the island of Ireland. Enjoy our beautiful county!

No To Fracking

No To Fracking is an open group of local people from the North Coast of Northern Ireland – across the counties of Antrim and Derry/Londonderry, from Ballycastle to Limavady – who are concerned that hydraulic fracturing will be used here to extract shale gas.

We believe that if local people only knew about the very real threat of fracking to our health, the local landscape, air and water, and our tourism and agricultural industries, they would unite to oppose it. The very successful No To Lignite campaign a few years ago showed that it can be done!

Belfast Not for $hale

Belfast Not For $hale is a Belfast based group of concerned members of the public who have come together to highlight the threat of Fracking in Ireland focusing mainly in the Northern and border counties but has a focus in bringing the issue of Fracking to the fore in an all Ireland context.

Engage Artist Collective

Using art for social change Engage Artist Collective currently running a campaign, to raise awareness of the issue and dangers of hydraulic fracturing (fracking) for gas in Ireland.

Shale Gas Research Ireland

The Impact Research Group is not a campaigning group. Our aim is to help inform the debate concerning Shale Gas for Ireland, and to widen the economic context in which the debate is taking place. We set ourselves the task of examining the particular economic and employment conditions in Ireland, and what impact the proposed  shale gas hydraulic fracturing might have.

No Fracking UK

If the UK Government are going to allow the Hydraulic Fracturing (fracking) of shale rock to extract gas, then they need to go into it with their eyes open knowing all the risks. We are calling for our government to impose a moratorium on gas drilling while essential environmental and economical impact studies are undertaken.

Treasure Karoo Action Group (TKAG) South Africa

Treasure Karoo Action Group (TKAG) is here for YOU. We oppose the introduction and licensing of FRACKING in South Africa in the absence of conclusive proof that FRACKING is the only and the best answer to our energy and employment needs in SA.

Gasland USA

Website of the GASLAND movie, Oscar nominated documentary created by Josh Fox. “The largest domestic natural gas drilling boom in history has swept across the United States. The Halliburton-developed drilling technology of “fracking” or hydraulic fracturing has unlocked a “Saudia Arabia of natural gas” just beneath us. But is fracking safe? When filmmaker Josh Fox is asked to lease his land for drilling, he embarks on a cross-country odyssey uncovering a trail of secrets, lies and contamination.
