New Fermanagh fracking project

The project

The 7th May 2019, the Department for the Economy of Northern Ireland published an application for a new petroleum exploration project, which includes drilling and test fracking in Fermanagh.

The project covers a large area of approximately 650 km², to the west Upper Lough Erne and south Lower Lough Erne.

Public Consultation

The Department also launched a public consultation on the project and submissions on the proposal are invited with a deadline of 5th July 2019.
